Matteo has been making music for more than 10 years now, starting with an electro-jazz background (Matteo played sax, Jacopo keyboard) and moving towards trance around 1998. As Loopus in Fabula he released tracks on various labels from all over the world: Digital Psionics (AUS), Surreal Audio (FIN), ZMA (GRE), Flow (POR), Exogenic (FIN), Resonoise (UK), Devic Craft (GRE), Candyflip (GRE) and the first album "LOOPUS IN FABULA" was released by the Australian label, Demon Tea Records (2002). The second album (2003) “ASTROFUNK” is released on Loopus’ own label "FABULARECORDS".
In 2004 DJ Loopus has selected for FABULARECORDS, together with Dj Styx, the compilation "ULTRAPOP" where he exposed his music and djing philosophy putting together a collection of works from artists all around the globe who are looking for something "different" in the broad psytrance genre...The compilation includes works from Antiscarp Warriors, Kiwa, the polish crew of Bigwigs, Eat Static, Sienis as well as new Loopus in Fabula. The third album "FAT LADIES BINGO" (2006) is the result of the work of Matteo together with his previous partner Jacopo as well as in solo version or in collaboration with artists from Australia and Finland. A new compilation is ready it will be called "ULTRAPOP 2" and has the name suggest it will continue the funky philosophy established with the first one...it will include works of Kiwa, Talpa, Ocelot, Krumelur, Itaytaiko (Itay from Kukan Dub Lugan) as well as Loopus and the new genial artist from New Zealand Tom Cosm...
Loopus has established himself a reputation for the so called "funkedelic" sound : a mixture of psytrance and funky disco sounds...there's actually more (or less), a total free crossover of influences with an electro, progressive, jazzy, circus feeling blended with the severe discipline of psytrance: a mind twisting psychedelia with a running full baseline...
Loopus has played up to now in almost every corner of the psytrance world and has developed a blended live+djset featuring a special task: slowly bringing the dancefloor into a relaxed, happy, funky atmosphere full of laughs and funny smiles... for this reason his set works best in early nights or sunny morning at outdoors or anytime in the kinky clubs....
