Bio:
Tom is a live electronic performer and teacher from New Zealand. He began writing music in 2002 and has since found his passion for both teaching and playing. He is New Zealand’s only Ableton certified trainer, and runs an online website that teaches people how to write music with computers.

Workshop:
This workshop is aimed at producers who already have writtentunes, but want to know how to turn that tune into something they can perform live. Tom shows his own developed techniques of easily getting a finished tune into Ableton, with a focus on making it smooth and lots of fun. He finds a lot of producers are a little bit afraid to truly perform live, so he has found a way that makes it very easy and quick for them to getthere and start experimenting themselves. This workshop also covers the various things that you can do when performing live,including how to trigger your sounds at the right time, various effects with fun parameters you can manipulate to create unique performances, and how to turn a knob properly (just joking…).All types of questions are encouraged!
